Project Localization

Notice:

We are not currently accepting translations. We will have a new process for submitting translations of projects and documentation soon.

Thank you for your patience :)

Creating a new Translation:

Step 1) Make sure your language hasn't already been translated.

Check the following list of languages that have been submitted to us. A "(+)" means the language is out of date or needs improvement. Take note of the Version Number we are currently translating! Betas can be downloaded in the Forums.

Step 2) Find out your computer's LanguageID.

This is a number that represents your language (English is 1033). You can find this out by running "LanguageID Finder.exe" in your \Tools\ folder. MSDN has a good list of IDs.

Step 3) Create a new language file named <YourLanguageID>.ini

To simplify this step, we recommend copying an existing language file and renaming it to your language ID. Since our software is developed in English, "1033.ini" will always be up to date. You can also check to see if your language file already exists and compare it to the English file to insure it is up to date.

Step 4) Translate all words on the right of the "=" sign

These translations don't need to match the word on the left of the "=" (even English doesn't)... However, they should make sense within the program. Make sure to save as a Unicode text document. It is possible to edit the INI file while running the program and see your translation right away. You will need to close and re-open the window you're translating to refresh your INI.

Please make sure that every option, window, control, and popup menu makes perfect sense in your language before submitting an INI to us. We understand that word-for-word translations don't usually fit, so we will leave it up to your best judgement when translating the names of various options.

Step 5) Submit the language file to be distributed in future releases

Simply create a new thread in the Translations Forum of the project you finished localizing. Be sure to place the language in the subject and attach a zipped copy of the file. We'll be sure to include it in the next release.
